Social /Ecological Year

The projects are organized in the form of individual volunteering/internship at the institutions and organizations, which are mainly working in the social or environmental sphere. The programme foresees stay of the volunteer on the project in Germany/Belarus during the period of 6-12 months. Work which is performed by the volunteers is interesting and diverse: assisting educators, coordinating children celebrations, organizing and conducting foreign language lessons, preparing and coordinating different workshops in the children’s and youth centers, assisting in providing care for elderly and ill people, participating in environmental activities etc.

The main objectives of the program are:

• providing an informal intercultural learning experience for young people encouraging their social integration, active participation, increasing their employability and giving them opportunities to show solidarity with other people;

• supporting the development of local communities;

• encouraging the establishment of new partnerships and the exchange of experience and good practice between the partners.

This program provides an opportunity to develop new fields of activity and to bring new ideas into the work of local educators and social workers thanks to enthusiasm, energy and motivation of volunteers.

In the field of long-term volunteer services LYVS currently offers two options - Social Voluntary Year and Ecological Voluntary Year.

Social Voluntary Year:

Volunteering in the field of non-formal education for children and youth, such as in cultural-pedagogical projects, youth leisure activities and youth educational centers or girls' projects.

Ecological Voluntary Year:

Volunteering in the field of ecology and protection of environment.
