The summer camp “Lazurnyi”

The summer camp “Lazurnyi”.

The Diary.

July, 24 2009

Despite the fact that the weather wasn’t warm enough (as we do have in Abkhazia!) everything was great because the main thing is the friendly atmosphere we had in the camp. I liked it very much and I would like to visit it again next year.

Argun Milana, Abkhazia

I was amazed by the skills of the participants. All of them managed any task perfectly. And, which is even more interesting, they helped each other, no matter either physical or psychological help was needed.

If you are choosing the place where to go, let it be “Lazurnyi”. The ideas to be realized may be different. Firstly, you can exchange experience and knowledge. Secondly, you can meet people from different countries in different parts of the world. Indeed, we are so different and nonetheless we are together!

Healthy style of life – that’s the one we had in the camp and one could easily feel it there: we had so many sport games, and events, and competitions… And everybody was eager to take part in them!

During this day all the 13 delegations presented their countries. It was splendid to see so many nationalities together. All the delegations represented their traditional food, souvenirs… anything somehow connected with their country. All the emotions and events are reflected on the photos made.

The next 3 days spent in “Lazurnyi” were just perfect. Each delegation created its own exhibition – during those days we were telling about national symbols and costumes and were showing them to everybody. All the participants had a chance to try traditional food. We exchanged opinions and asked any questions.

It was raining heavily yesterday. My friend from Finland and I called anyone to dance in the rain. After that we were terribly cold and went to change our clothes. Now we are wearing warm clothes and waiting for rain to follow again.

Today one representative of our delegation got ill. But I’m sure that he’ll recover soon. Last night we made a big campfire. It was so exciting! We were having fun and dancing, we sang traditional songs as well.

Today we had a Love Day. All who wanted were getting married)))) And after that all the couples had a romantic dinner. In the evening we had a dancing party for those who are in love and then … a wedding night

That was the day of the receiving country – Russia! The beginning of the day was followed with national hymn, dances and songs. We also had a unique possibility to see the country life as we visited one of the Russian villages. In the end we saw the presentations of Serbia and Russia. We were also studying the Russian language in that evening. We learned some simple words such as Zdravstvuite (Hello), Spasibo (Thanks), Spokoinoi nochi (Good night)… Russian is very difficult but I liked it!

Every day we got up early and went to bed late. We didn’t have much time for sleep, we got tired a little bit, but it was fine unforgettable time we had together! In the evening we always had a very interesting program. Once we had a star show, then – night walks in the forest… After the time spent in the camp I found many new friends and got to know about other countries and cultures and their traditions. Thank you, Lazurnyi!

The motto of the first day of August was “Let’s make this world better!”. In the morning we made floating candles for our evening ceremony when we set them off into a peaceful sail as a symbol of peace. We want to make our world better – without wars and violence.

Today we had a volleyball competition between the delegations. The game was long and tense. In the last minutes we were nearly out of breath, but we were sure in ourselves and we won! We made this!

Today we discussed the topics that are of great importance for everybody. We imagined the world without nicotine, alcohol, drugs, corruption, wars. These problems don’t know the borders, they concern all the counties – developing or developed, poor or rich- and if it doesn’t concern you personally you shouldn’t be indifferent anyway.

All good is finished so soon. And 2 weeks in “Lazurnyi” are away in a blink of a moment… But we will have place for the time spent there in our hearts forever. We will remember it as a very happy time spent together. We were a team and “coped” with everything together. Thanks for everything – sleepless nights, your understanding, care and warmth, our occasional misbehavior)))). Thank you for the time and hard work spent on us. We were so happy, and it’s so sad to part now. Years will be passing by, but the time in “Lazurnyi” will stay in my memory forever!
